  • Devotees Called Upon to Attend Historic ‘Chant 4 Change’

    Already ISKCON communities in Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Alachua, Maine and New York are mobilizing large contingents of devotees to attend what promises to be an historic event this October 8th – Chant 4 Change.Kirtan chanter and organizer Gaura Vani is imploring all devotees from throughout the U.S. and beyond to come en masse and make a powerful statement on a public stage. That statement is that there’s only one way to heal the racism, sexism and terrorism that is currently plaguing the globe – and that is chanting God’s names.

  • H.H. The Dalai Lama's Message for the "Chant for Change" Event

    On Saturday October 8th, at Washington’s famed Lincoln Memorial, at the site of one of America’s most famous landmarks, an event never seen before on this scale in Washington will take place. Chant4Change will focus on the performances of dozens of musicians, from a variety of religious and spiritual traditions, who will join together for a day and evening of music calling out to the Divine in chant, prayer, and song. To celebrate the event, H.H. the Dalai Lama also sent a message.

  • ISKCON50 Book Distribution Days in Hungary

    As part of the ISKCON50 program series, Vaishnavas in Hungary organized a two-day national book distribution event, taking place at different locations of the country. Devotees who had never distributed books before, or had not taken part in sankirtana for a long time were also involved. During the two days, 36 participants from the farm sold 619 books, while the 195 devotees on the streets of Budapest distributed 2,650 books. 

  • ISKCON Brahmapur’s Permanent Book Store at Railway Station for ISKCON 50

    “The sign above the book store says: one book will change your life,” commented Pancharatna Das. “All of us know that Srila Prabhupada’s books have transformed the hearts and minds of millions of people around the world. We hope that our humble offering to Srila Prabhupada in the 50th anniversary year of ISKCON will please His Divine Grace by increasing book distribution and generating more publicity for ISKCON.”

  • Religious and Political Leaders Appreciate Srila Prabhupada and ISKCON at 50th Anniversary Gala in Washington D.C.

    Over 300 people attended the Gala event, seventy-five of them special VIP invitees including religious leaders, media, government representatives and political leaders. 

  • Washington to Host Two Major ISKCON 50 Events

    The capital city of the United States will host two major events over the next month celebrating in style and en masse the 50th Anniversary of ISKCON and the power of chanting God’s names to change the world. On September 13, in the Presidential Ballroom of the Capital Hilton Hotel three hundred people will gather for a formal ISKCON 50 Gala Evening. Picking up right where the Gala ends—with kirtan—on Saturday October 8th, the celebration will move just a mile away to the foot of Washington’s famed Lincoln Memorial.

  • ISKCON 50 Gala Dinner in Durban, South Africa

    The guest list comprised of close to five hundred of Durban’s elite - professionals, businessmen, academics, government members, media and artists– all especially invited to the evening to join Bhakti Charu Swami in reliving and celebrating the journey of Srila Prabhupada and his ISKCON over the last five decades.

  • 50th Celebrations at the Sydney Opera House Attract Devotees from Around the World

    ISKCON’s 50th Anniversary was commemorated in style in Sydney, Australia from August 19 to 21 with a weekend of celebrations. The weekend’s events started on Friday night with Bhakti Film Fest and a patron’s dinner. The highlight of the weekend was a theatrical, musical, and multimedia performance at the iconic Sydney Opera House with 800people attending two performances.

  • A Historic Event – The First Ratha-Yatra In Zagreb, Croatia

    On the 6th of August, the capital of Croatia – Zagreb – welcomed Lord Jagannatha with the Ratha-yatra festival for the first time. A big, colorful procession of around 350 people with the wonderful Jagannatha, Baladeva and Subhadra deities joyfully resting on a chariot beautifully decorated with flowers and cookies began its way at the Europski square, proceeding through the main square and finally reaching Zagreb’s biggest city park, Zrinjevac, where kirtan and book and prasadam distribution went on.

  • ISKCON Cape Town Hosts a Banquet in Honour of ISKCON’s 50th Anniversary

    Celebrations of the 50th Anniversary of ISKCON are here and ISKCON Cape Town hosted a formal banquet in honour of ISKCON’s 50th anniversary with around 120 attendees. This included VIPs, influential friends of ISKCON in Cape Town and religious leaders. The evening was a wonderful combination of information sharing about Srila Prabhupada and ISKCON as well as entertainment, over a sumptuous dinner of Krishna prasadam.

  • Los Angeles Celebrates 40th Rathayatra and 50th of ISKCON

    It was a truly uplifting and festive time for ISKCON of Los Angeles from August 4th to 7th recently, with celebrations for both the 40th anniversary of the city’s Rathayatra festival, and the 50th anniversary of ISKCON in full swing. There was a kirtan mela with international kirtaniyas, a series of seminars and video presentations, a tour of places where Prabhupada frequented in LA,  and the biggest Rathayatra festival yet.

  • Indian Prime Minister Commends ISKCON on its 50th Anniversary

    Indian Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi has congratulated ISKCON on its 50th anniversary, praising its accomplishments in a way that shows a strong understanding of ISKCON's  core message and efforts. We hope its Founder-Acarya Srila Prabhupada, who always tried to reach the leaders of society, is pleased.

  • ISKCON 50 Releases Three More ‘Inspiration Series’ Videos

    ISKCON’s 50th Anniversary Committee released three more video clips in continuation of the two that had been released earlier on 13th July, as part of the Inspiration Series. The new clips feature talks by Gopal Krishna Goswami, Bhaktivijnana Swami and Dina Sharana Devi Dasi, who discuss the importance of the 50th anniversary and encourage the worldwide community of devotees to participate enthusiastically in the celebrations around the globe.

  • Devotees Inaugurate Newly Renovated Leicester Temple

    Devotees at ISKCON of Leicester, England, publicly inaugurated their temple and presented new renovations to Srila Prabhupada as an offering for ISKCON’s 50th anniversary on Saturday July 30th. It was a special moment for Leicester devotees. Back in September 2010, their Thoresby Street temple was completely destroyed by a gas leak explosion in the kitchen. They purchased a new temple, a 15,000 square foot historic former HSBC Bank in the very center of Leciester, in December 2011.

  • Incorporation Week Celebrations in Chandigarh Attracts Thousands

    ISKCON's temple in the city of Chandigarh, the capital of Punjab and Haryana, celebrated ISKCON's incorporation as a week-long festival from 11th July to 17th July 2016. On 17th July, many senior devotees at ISKCON Chandigarh made gratitude offerings to Srila Prabhupada. This was followed by the staging of a special play released by the 50th Anniversary Committee, called 'Swamiji at sea'.

  • Durban Indulges In A Taste Of Devotion In Celebration of ISKCON50

    The Sri Sri Radha Radhanath temple in Durban, South Africa embarked on a rather sweet campaign to celebrate ISKCON 50.  On Thursday, 28 July over 150 devotees distributed 5,000 cup cakes all around Durban.  The campaign began two weeks prior to the main distribution date, when temple president Vibhu Caitanya dasa, who personally steered and organised all aspects of the campaign,   invited devotees and well-wishers to place orders for cupcakes to distribute at their places of employment, schools, universities and other institutions. 

  • Italian Parliament to Host ISKCON 50 Conference

    “Last year, this was just a dream of mine, but I was confident that Krishna would help me find a way to do something relevant for this historical anniversary,” says Villa Vrindavana President Parabhakti Das. “Sure enough, my dear friend Narada Muni Prabhu, a famous musician who is well acquainted with many influential people, came along and offered his help and that opened the doors to the Parliament.”

  • ISKCON Leicester to Reveal Working Temple for 50th Anniversary

    Four years after acquisition, ISKCON Leicester will finally reveal major renovation to the City Centre building, allowing it to be finally used as a temple, this Saturday 30th July 2016. 

  • London Mayor Congratulates ISKCON on Turning 50

    The meeting was part of the special outreach initiative to express gratitude to the city of London in which 5000 cupcakes were distributed in key locations in London during morning rush hour to say, “Thank You London!”.

  • 50th Anniversary Celebration at ISKCON Colombia

    Colombia is joining the ISKCON 50 celebrations, which are taking place all around the world. Among many other events, devotees wil holdl a large-scale public festival and a kirtan workshop.

  • 50th Anniversary Garden Opening at the Bhaktivedanta Manor

    The garden opening was followed by the launch of the book Swami in a Strange Land, written by Prabhupada’s disciple Yogesvara Das.

  • Jagannath Brings in a Splash of Spiritual Culture to London on ISKCON 50th

    Lord Jagannath, Lady Subhadra and Lord Baladev were carried in three beautifully decorated chariots. In celebration of ISKCON’s 50th anniversary the chariots also carried the “ISKCON 50” logo.
