In October a very special event happened at the TOVP, the arrival of Srila Prabhupada, the installation of the Srila Prabhupada Murti. On the same date, Hari Sauri Das made the official announcement of the arrival of his latest book – Back to Vrndavana: Srila Prabhupada’s Final Lila – and it is now available for purchase.
“Srila Prabhupada spent his last 6 weeks on this planet in Vrndavana Dhama, and I was fortunate enough to spend the month of October serving him while chronicling every event, detail, and pastime that I witnessed.” Says Hari Sauri Das.
Back to Vrndavana is based on the diary he kept during that time and it is his hope this book will give devotees who were not present the opportunity to gain insight into Srila Prabhupada’s sublime transcendental character and learn the valuable lessons he imparted.
“This book is presented for the edification and pleasure of what we hope will be all the many millions of readers for generations to come. It is one small attempt to bring to the attention of the world the greatness of Srila Prabhupada, his person, and his message. I have attempted to present an accurate and detailed historical record of the activities and pastimes of Srila Prabhupada — Srila Prabhupada as he is — during the latter part of his stay with us.”
“Referring to the books written by himself, Srila Prabhupada said that if a person reads “one verse, one line, one word,” his life will be changed. I am confident that the same effect will be had by reading books written about him. And that is the purpose of Srila Prabhupada’s appearance: to change our lives from the dull mundane to the transcendental realm of spiritual enlightenment and unlimited happiness, where all difficulties and contradictions are automatically resolved in the light of their common relationship to Lord Krsna.”
“May my beloved spiritual preceptor Om Visnupada A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada be pleased with this small contribution to the ever-growing testimonials to his pure devotion, compassion, and mercy, and bless us with His Divine Grace.”
“Hari Sauri Prabhu’s Back to Vrindavana pulls his readers into Srila Prabhupada’s personal association during his final days in Sri Vrindavana-dhama. We are at Srila Prabhupada’s bedside, witnesses to the loving pastimes of his last months and the most intimate exchanges with his loyal servant.” –Sivaram Swami
“…The painful subject of Srila Prabhupada’s departure is softened time and again by Hari Sauri’s description of his sweet loving exchanges with Srila Prabhupada. His narrative offers us a rare glimpse into Srila Prabhupada’s personal life, wherein he acted as both an instructing master and a loving well-wisher to his disciples.” —Indradyumna Swami
