ISKCON Devotee Healthcare Services, an initiative of Bhaktivedanta Hospital and Research Institute, has witnessed significant growth since its initial launch at the 2023 International Leadership Sanga (ILS), expanding its reach to countries around the world.

The highly respected Mumbai hospital is a 300-bed NABH-accredited (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers) multi-specialty tertiary care facility. A team from the hospital attended ISKCON’s 2025 ILS, where it shared its expanding initiative to serve devotees worldwide.

ISKCON Devotee Healthcare Services
Inspired by the teachings of Srila Prabhupada, the Bhaktivedanta Hospital and Research Institute anchors its service to devotees in three core pillars:
1. Varnashrama – Promoting social harmony and spiritual growth by aligning healthcare practices with the principles of Varnashrama, ensuring care that respects each individual’s role in society.
2. Vaishnava Dharma Prachar – Spreading the teachings of Vaishnavism through compassionate care and spiritual guidance, integrating faith with healing.
3. Vaishnava Seva – Dedicated service to devotees with compassion and devotion, reflecting the hospital’s commitment to serving the body, mind, and soul.

ISKCON Devotee Healthcare Services aims to support devotees in maintaining good health and to empower them to continue their spiritual journey with vigor and devotion. Flowing from the principle of Vaishnava Seva, this initiative seeks to connect with worldwide ISKCON devotees, offering comprehensive healthcare support through various channels.

A dedicated devotee helpline number (+91 7391040162) ensures that devotees worldwide have seamless access to quality healthcare. The number allows devotees to schedule medical appointments and consult with specialists. It is especially beneficial for devotees who don’t have online access or are in remote areas and need specialized medical care.

Extending beyond immediate medical assistance, the initiative embraces preventive healthcare as an essential aspect of serving the devotees. It conducts special health talks and webinars led by experienced doctors and wellness experts, covering more than 100 health topics. By integrating modern medical science with a holistic approach, the program empowers devotees to take proactive steps in maintaining good physical and mental health while continuing their spiritual journey.

Since its inception in 2023, ISKCON Devotee Healthcare Services has conducted health seminars across Barbados, Africa, Asia, and India, benefiting over 3,000 devotees worldwide through its Health Talk Request Number, +91 9607011835.

Bhaktivedanta Hospital and Research Institute’s Unique Approach to Health
Another unique and valuable service offered by the hospital is its integrated medicine approach. In this model, health seekers benefit from consulting with doctors from diverse fields—such as Ayurveda, Allopathy, Homeopathy, diet, and spiritual counseling—all in a single sitting. This holistic approach provides a comprehensive and consolidated treatment plan, ensuring that patients receive well-rounded care that supports their physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

Sarvagya Krishna Das, representing Bhaktivedanta Hospital and Research Institute at the ILS 2025, shared with deep humility, “Our primary purpose is not merely to have devotees come to our hospital or avail of our facilities; they can go to any hospital of their choice in case of need. Our genuine desire is to see every devotee healthy and joyful, empowered to serve Sri Guru and Sri Gauranga with enthusiasm and devotion.”

The hospital maintains a strong devotional culture, inspiring over 1,200 staff members to embrace Krishna consciousness. It serves not only as a healthcare institution but also as a preaching mission. Only Prasadam offered to Lord Jagannath, Lord Baldev, Mother Subhadra, and Sri Sri Nitai Caitanya Vaidyam is served to patients as well as visitors. Srila Prabhupada’s kirtan resonates throughout the hospital, nurturing a spiritually uplifting atmosphere.

Over the last 27 years, senior devotees and ISKCON leaders have trusted Bhaktivedanta Hospital’s services. Through ISKCON’s Devotee Healthcare Services, the hospital aims to solidify its resolve to take care of devotees’ health in a humble mood of “Serving in Devotion.”
