MOUNDSVILLE, WEST VIRGINIA (September 2nd, 2013) – New Vrindaban, home of Srila Prabhupada’s Palace of Gold, will host its second annual Festival of Colors on Saturday, September 14, 2013 (11 am to 7 pm). The Festival of Colors is an exuberant event, full of excitement and many bright colors.

The theme of the festival is “Color your life and throw your worries to the wind!” This festival brings people together from all cultural backgrounds, united in their desire to celebrate life and to promote love and friendship.

During the all-day party, every hour there will be a group color throwing, where brightly colored organic powders are tossed into the air. Five bands will be playing live ecstatic mantra music all day long. Everyone will be chanting the Hare Krishna maha mantra set in the background of Prabhupada’s Palace of Gold.  People will also get to taste delicious vegetarian food that has been offered to the Lord (prasad), and to learn some yoga. The festival package includes the meal, a set of four-color bags and an attractive t-shirt.

At last year’s inaugural festival, over 1300 participants joined in the fun and had the time of their lives throwing colors, chanting Hare Krishna, dancing to the live music and tasting the delectable offered food. Festival of Colors is celebrated by millions of people all over the world, making it the most popular Indian cultural festival.  In the U.S.A. this festival is held in other ISKCON temples as well, such as Utah, California, Florida, Maryland, West Virginia and Illinois, to name a few.

Vrindavana Das, project manager of the festival explains, “This year we are expecting over 6,000 people and we are excited to see this new festival grow as it brings a vibrant and enlivening atmosphere to all participants.”
