Yasodamayi presents at the weekly Boalsburg Farmers Market.

Yasodamayi Dasi’s journey has been one of devotion, sustainability, and deep-rooted service. From her early years in Krishna Consciousness to her dedication to regenerative farming and holistic living, she has woven her faith seamlessly into every aspect of her work. Through her projects, Trifolia Nature Products and Three Leaf Farmden, she strives to provide conscious, sustainable alternatives for the devotee community and beyond.

A Devotee’s Path Rooted in Service

Yasodamayi’s introduction to Krishna Consciousness came at a pivotal time in her life. Drawn to the philosophy and community, she found herself embracing a life centered around service. Over the years, she balanced her spiritual commitments with professional pursuits, always seeking ways to integrate the two.

“My upbringing didn’t include much exposure to sustainable living, but when I came into Krishna Consciousness, I started realizing how deeply connected our lifestyle should be to nature,” she shared.  “Bhakti Tirtha Maharaja instilled in us the need for sustainability and self-sufficiency. If we can’t grow our food, sew our clothes, or build what we need, who will we turn to?” This realization planted the seed for what would later grow into her passion for regenerative farming and conscious consumerism.

Building Sustainable Initiatives

Her desire to provide natural, sustainable products led to the creation of Trifolia Nature Products, an initiative focused on producing herbal skincare, haircare, and household essentials using traditional and Ayurvedic ingredients. She recalled the trial-and-error process of developing formulas, sharing, “It was a lot of experimentation at first—learning what works, refining ingredients, making sure everything aligned with our values.”

Parallel to this, she collaboratively established Three Leaf Farmden, a small-scale regenerative farming project aimed at demonstrating the viability of self-sufficient living. Focusing on growing organic produce, nurturing soil health, and fostering biodiversity, the farm, located in the beautiful and fertile Juniata Valley in central Pennsylvania, became not just a source of nourishment but also a teaching ground for devotees eager to adopt sustainable practices.

Challenges and Triumphs

The road to building these initiatives wasn’t without obstacles. Yasodamayi candidly shared some of the hurdles she faced, particularly in the early days. “One of the biggest challenges was finding land suitable for what I wanted to do. And then, of course, funding—everything required an upfront investment, whether it was soil amendments, equipment, or packaging for Trifolia,” she explained.

There were moments of discouragement, but she leaned on her faith and the support of her community to push forward. “I remember one time I was on the verge of giving up on a particular formula because I just couldn’t get it right. Then, a devotee friend tried one of the products and told me how much it helped them with their skin issues. That was the encouragement I needed to keep going,” she recalled.

Integrating Spirituality into Daily Life

Beyond the physical labor and entrepreneurial work, Yasodamayi remains deeply committed to her spiritual practices. She maintains a disciplined sadhana, which includes early morning japa meditation, regular study of Srila Prabhupada’s books, and offering all her work as a service to Krishna. “For me, farming and making natural products are extensions of my devotion. It’s an offering—whether it’s growing food or crafting herbal soaps, I want it to be something pleasing to Krishna and beneficial for others.”

Her approach to sustainability is not just about reducing environmental impact but also about fostering a consciousness of gratitude and responsibility within the devotee community. “I see so much potential in how we, as a movement, can become more self-sufficient. It’s about taking small steps—maybe growing a few herbs at home, reducing waste, or supporting local producers. Every effort counts.”

Impact and Future Aspirations

Three Leaf Farmden has already influenced many within her community, inspiring devotees to explore regenerative farming and holistic wellness. “I’ve had families visit the farmden and later tell me they started their own backyard gardens because of what they learned here. That, to me, is real impact,” she shared.

As for Trifolia, Yasodamayi envisions expanding its reach and making natural products more accessible. “I want to grow the line in a way that stays true to the original vision—offering high-quality, affordable alternatives while educating people on why these choices matter.”

She remains open to collaborative efforts, welcoming devotees and sustainability enthusiasts alike to connect, share ideas, and participate in the movement toward conscious living.
