ISKCON devotee, monk, and artist Haridas Thakur Das displayed a collection of astounding artwork of painting of His Divine Grace, A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada at one of India’s most prestigious Jehangir Art Gallery from 15 – 22 March 2022.

The inauguration of the art exhibition was followed by a grand launch of the book “Illustrations and Illuminations” by Haridas Thakur Das. The inauguration took place in presence of many esteemed guests, dignitaries, and senior devotees including Narasimha Caitanya Das, Devakinandan Das, Braja Hari Das, KrsnaChandra Das, Yash Birla, Nisha Jamwal, Saurabh Pandey, and many more. The inauguration was followed by a live video talk by Radhanath Swami.

“Illustrations & Illuminations” is an artistic glorification of Srila Prabhupada to commemorate his 125th birth anniversary. Haridas Thakur Das has painted a collection of astounding artworks and compiled thought-provoking articles which distill the mature wisdom of Srila Prabhupada’s timeless teachings to help one in treading the path of spirituality and bhakti-yoga.

In his own words, Haridas Thakur Das explains that “This book is a compilation of all my artwork. I have made a small attempt to capture the personality behind the person of Srila Prabhupada on canvas with paints & words with the sole purpose to create awareness of Srila Prabhupada’s work, and his contribution to the world for this 125th birth anniversary this year”.

Haridas Thakur Das also conducts art seminars for youth and art enthusiasts and teaches contemporary wisdom from Vedic texts to youth and working professionals.

Radhanath Swami, a GBC member and also the spiritual master of Haridas Thakur Das stated that “In this exhibition, there are various illustrations depicting the divine meditations, ecstasies, emotions, and moods of Srila Prabhupada. His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada has opened up the windows to the Spiritual World, showing us the blissful life of bhakti to Lord Krishna in the form of the most beautiful paintings done by Haridas Thakur Das. This exhibition is dedicated to world peace in these most dangerous situations by glorifying the pure devotee of Lord Krishna”.

After his inaugural exhibition in Mumbai, Haridas Thakur Das shall host his outstanding artwork in most major metros of India in the next few months.
