SOME DETAILS OF THE SANGHA:

Over eight days, there will be over 60 seminars linked to the eight topic areas listed below, presented by knowledgeable devotees. The ILS is an incredible opportunity to build relationships with ISKCON Leaders from around the world, and in particular with devotees who perform similar services as you. There will be inspirational sessions led by GBCs such as Radhanath Swami, Bhakti Charu Swami, Jayapataka Swami, Gopal Krsna Swami, and Sivarama Swami, along with dozens of seminars by senior devotees. There will be wonderful prasadam served, and room accommodations for all. Participants can listen to Srimad-Bhagavatam classes given by ISKCON’s best speakers, take part in unforgettable parikramas and kirtans, and relish the association of devotees while being purified in Mayapur Dham.

PRIMARY THEMES OF THE SANGA:

ISKCON is in a crucial time period. Srila Prabhupada’s disciples are in their 60s and 70s. The movement is already being led by the next generation in many places. In the next 10 to 20 years, the movement will be handed over to this next generation completely. Now is the time to seriously reflect on many important questions. The ILS seminar will focus on the following:

  1. What culture and values will guide ISKCON’s decisions and maintain its purity?
  2. What existing and new systems should be in place to “keep the wheels moving?”
  3. What lessons can we glean from our past mistakes and successes?
  4. What training can be offered to our future leadership?
  5. How can devotees become inspired to maintain strong sadhana and study Srila Prabhupada’s books?
  6. How can we build a society that has healthy guru/ disciple, family/social and organizational interactions?
  7. How will we fulfil Srila Prabhupada and Lord Caitanya’s desire to spread Krsna Consciousness throughout the world?
  8. How can ISKCON’s leaders inspire and maintain the trust of the Vaishnava community?

If you relieve me of the burden of management, that will be a very great service to Krsna and the movement. See that everything is going on nicely. With great endeavor, we have made the framework, now we have to see that things are going on nicely… He gave the example of the Indian railways. "They have a motto: 'The wheels must keep moving.' And it is the business of every employee, whether a train driver, a fireman or a clerk in the office, to do their bit so that the wheels never stop. If the wheels stop, business stops." (A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada)
