On April 24- 27th, ISKCON Phoenix hosted a transformative Devotee Care course led by Jai Nitai Das and Bhakti Bhava Devi Dasi, marking a significant milestone in the temple’s journey toward fostering a spiritually nourishing and inclusive environment.
The course, attended by a committed group of temple members, focused on the essential principles of care. In these 3-day sessions, participants explored topics such as emotional support and sustainable community building. The interactive and reflective nature of the course allowed devotees to engage deeply with real-life scenarios and practical applications.
Jai Nita Das and Bhakti Bhava Devi Dasi, both experienced leaders with decades of experience in pastoral care and community development within ISKCON, guided participants with wisdom, humility, and a deep sense of purpose. Their leadership brought warmth and authenticity to the sessions, leaving devotees feeling empowered and equipped to extend care within their circles.
Some of the participants’ feedback included, “This course reminded us that caring for each other is not separate from our service to Krishna—it is integral to it,” and “It was an eye-opening experience. I had a misconception of what Devotee Care was; I have a clear picture now.”
By embracing the values taught in the Devotee Care course, ISKCON Phoenix is taking meaningful steps toward building a more connected and resilient spiritual family. The temple hopes to continue this momentum by integrating these principles into its daily practices and outreach efforts, nurturing a community where every devotee feels valued and supported.
The NA Devotee Care Initiative hopes to have more of these courses in more temples and centers in North America. For more information, please visit their website. To learn more about ISKCON Phoenix and their upcoming events, please visit their website and follow them on Facebook.
