The Sahyadri Varnasrama College (SVC) is now accepting applications for its one-month course to be given from January 1 to 31, 2015 on the campus of Sahyadri Sri Krishna Balarama Ksetra (SSKBK) located near the small town of Hebri in the district of Udupi, South Karnataka, India.

The Coordinator for the program this year is Sriman Raya Ramananda das, one of the resident devotees at SSKBK who has authored a number of books related to the varnasrama mission, one of them titled as “Overhaul and Revert”.

On-going since 2009, the courses offered during this semester will focus on land, cows and Krishna where both resident and visiting Faculty members will cover the four traditional occupations or varnas.

In addition to practical courses in the mornings and theory classes in the afternoon, students will also get the opportunity to take field trips in neighboring areas to observe the richness of the Sahyadri Mountain range described as one of the rare bio-diversity hot-spots on the planet.

In keeping with the Vedic educational system of gurukula, the courses are offered without fees but students are requested to honor the practice of dakshina.

Registration is limited to 10 students and should be completed by November 31, 2014.

RP Bhakti Raghava Swami, Minister for IDVM-India and Chair for Global Village Initiative Committee (GVIC) will preside over the entire period and will daily be giving classes.
