ISKCON’s temple in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, is situated in a prominent area of town, and occupies a central and very visible location. Immediately across from the temple is a Bus Stop that has had the name of ISKCON Cross Road BRTS Bus Stop for a long time.
Twelve hundred devotees from all over India and the rest of the world, as well as thousands of locals, gathered to celebrate the opening of a gorgeous new ISKCON temple in Rajkot, Gujarat. The festival was centered around Rama Navami and ran from April 12thto 14th.
On Saturday, 9th February, Vaisesika Das gave a presentation on the philosophical significance as well as practical techniques of book distribution to the entire team at ISKCON Ahmedabad, then the entire team got onto buses heading out to Bhadrakali – a busy shopping spot in the city for the practical session!
The Gujarati dubbed DVD of the hit movie “Hare Krishna – The Mantra, the Movement and the Swami who started it all” was launched at the ISKCON Ahmedabad Ram Vijaya Festival on October 19th, by the Honorable Chief Minister of Gujarat Vijay Rupani.
Between March 2014 and the end of 2016 – ISKCON’s 50th anniversary year – the Padayatra Worldwide Ministry is aiming to hold 50 padayatras.
Nothing prepared the Indian state of Gujarat for the scale and extent of the Patedar agitation which spread like wildfire in two short months in July and August 2015.
