Construction of the main dome of the Temple of the Vedic Planetarium in Mayapur, West Bengal, India has reached a pivotal point, the third and final ring is being cast. Once completed, the actual dome shape will take form from this last layer of foundation.
The dome will be made of stainless steel and will reach a height of 35 M, or 115 feet, above the final ring. This dome marks the centerpiece of the temple.
Devotees exposed daily to the images of what this temple will look like upon completion find it surreal to have a live view of the progress in action, to watch the skeleton of this structure shape into the vision of the previous acharyas of the Gaudiya Vaishnava lineage.
