The Vrindavan Institute of Higher Education (VIHE) is organizing a dynamic six-day onsite Teacher Training Course (TTC) in the holy month of Kartik from 18th-23rd November 2023 with Aniruddha Dasa and Bimala Prasad Dasa leading TTC1 and TTC2 respectively.

The course will be held on the premises of VIHE in Vrindavana. Students will benefit greatly by learning the philosophy of learning in the supportive environment of Vrindavana.

The curriculum involves numerous interactive group learning experiences, making learning enjoyable without homework. At the end of the course, each student must prepare and deliver one five-minute and one forty-minute presentation. There is little or no written assessment required.

The TTC1 course supports students in exploring the philosophy of learning and its relevance for ISKCON. It is an introduction and a prerequisite for TTC2. Aniruddha Dasa said, “The TTC1 introduces different teaching styles and methods, specifically interactive and experiential, along with basic skills in delivery, facilitation, and classroom management. Students also practice communication and interpersonal skills and briefly consider lesson planning and various types of assessment and their purposes.”

Aniruddha feels amazed by the talented devotees attending VIHE courses. He has been associated with this service for many years and has a deep appreciation for this service. He said, “I often find myself teaching a diverse group of students from India, many of whom have English as a second language. It’s important to speak clearly and limit the use of unfamiliar terms. While there are some minor challenges, seeing these talented individuals embrace the educational philosophy and effectively apply it is truly rewarding.”

VIHE is an excellent place to learn, with encouraging and supportive teachers and staff. The prasādam is both healthy and tasty. So devotees are encouraged to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity and equip themselves with the art of effective teaching methods.
