Vanamali dasi is a mother of three, a dedicated devotee of Lord Jagannatha, and the manager of a Bed & Breakfast place in the picturesque resort place of Lungern in Switzerland, where she has been accommodating pilgrims walking the Saint Jakob`s trail for the last ten years.

These pilgrims walk from Germany to Spain and because the route passes in front of her house she always had guest staying overnight. Last October she received a certified upgrade from the B&B (Bed&Breakfast) organization. Her guesthouse is open all year long.

Vanamali is very enthusiastic about serving pilgrims: “I like to welcome guests and offer them hospitality. Here they get Bed & prasadam, and many times they take part in bhajanas. As a grhasta I’m limited in my involvement in the sankirtana movement. But by Krishna`s mercy I can do this much.”

With the smell of incense, the Indian arts, and the delicious meals, the pilgrims find their stay in her house to be very interesting and outstanding and they usually eager to know more about Vanamali and her family. She tells them to read Srila Prabhupada`s books to know her better. The guests usually purchase one of Srila Prabhupada’s books when they leave.

Vanamali regularly goes to the Zurich Temple to cook for their Lordships Sri Jagannath, Baladeva and Subhadra. She Also manages the participants in the on-line Bhakti-Sastri course.
