HUBLI, Karnataka, India: A five-day inter-collegiate cultural event, ‘Rasa Fest’, organized by ISKCON, Hubli-Dharwad, India got under way on Monday. It was inaugurated by astrologer Shymrao Ramrao Jumnalkar on the ISKCON premises.
The festival has been organized with the aim of providing a platform for budding artistes to showcase their talent as well as familiarize them with Indian culture and heritage.
Mr. Jumnalkar said that events such as the cultural festival provided a platform for students.
Eighty students participated in the Vedic quiz contest on the inaugural day.
Akash and Kartik of BVB College of Engineering emerged as winners of the event.
Twenty-five students from various colleges participated in the elocution contest and spoke on India’s rich culture. More than 40 students participated in the vocal contest.
Chairman MAA Group of Colleges Raghavendra S. Katti and social activist Prabhu Hirekerur were present.
