Every year, the festival of the blessing of fruits was held in the province of Mendoza, Argentina.
This is a traditional Christian festival, which became part of the protocol of the provincial state and has been celebrated since 1938, in which God is thanked for the crops.
Mendoza has had an Interreligious Council since approximately 1976, in which various religious leaders of different confessions came together to give refuge to those exiled from Chile, due to the military coup led by Augusto Pinochet on September 11, 1973.
In 1982 Pope John Paul II visited Mendoza and thanked said Council for its exemplary action.
Since 2011 Baladeva das, director of communications for ISKCON Latin America, is part of the Mendoza Interreligious Council, contributing from Vaisnavism the ancient wisdom of the Vedas, the beautiful legacy of Srila Prabhupada to humanity.
In this edition of The Blessing of the Fruits 2023, there was an inter-religious prayer of thanks and request in which at the beginning the conch is blown and the Maha Mantra Hare Krishna is sung, the shofar of the Jewish tradition and the gong of the Buddhists. All this with the intention of making a call to prayer.
It is important to note that the religious and artistic spectacle is attended by more than 15,000 people every year and is televised throughout Argentina on official television and for the world on social networks.
