In 2011, the Divine Names Retreat in Radhadesh, Belgium will be held from April 22nd-28th. There is an additional “Building the Retreat Culture through a Teacher Training Program,” which will be held for one day, on April 29th.
In the retreats, led by Sacinandana Swami and assisted by Bhurijana Das, Giriraja Swami and Bhakti Vijnana Goswami, participants are being helped to enter into deeper understandings and experiences of chanting the Holy Names.
In the retreats the method that is being used is called Active Learning, which helps the participants grasp the knowledge much better and imbibe it more deeply.
The members of the organizing team are continuously working on improving the retreats by adding new knowledge, based on the ongoing research and the experiences and feedback of the participants. As a result of that each retreat is different.
The organizers recommend taking part in a few retreats, at least once a year.
This year, the team will introduce a Teacher Training Program, full with helpful tools and tips for those who wish to share the content of the retreats with others. In the “Building the Retreat Culture through a Teacher Training Program” course participants can learn many tools and tips on teaching a retreat, e.g., by organizing japa-and-kirtan sangas and other kirtan events (workshops, nama-yajnas, or even public mantra programs).
