This year we won’t get the chance to pull Lord Jagannatha, Lord Baladeva and Subhadra Devi’s chariots through the streets but don’t let that dampen your spirits. Get ready to welcome Them into your hearts this weekend!
ISKCON Berlin, London, Radhadesh and Zurich are organizing the Spirit of Ratha Yatra, a unique first-time European virtual collaboration festival jointly hosted on Saturday 18th July, 11:00 – 17:00 CEST / 10:00 – 16:00 BST.
The festivities will include Deity darshans, history of the Deities by special speakers, guided meditation, kirtan and more!
Temple President of ISKCON Berlin, Sadasiva dasa shares how the initiative came about, “Since many European countries are not permitting large public gatherings due to the pandemic, many cities are unable to hold their annual Ratha Yatra festival. So, at ISKCON Berlin, we came up with the idea of holding an online festival. We also saw this as an opportunity to collaborate with other European centers to share the vibrant history of the movement in Europe.
Through this virtual festival, our goal is to give our respective communities the chance to celebrate Ratha Yatra at least within their hearts guided through katha and kirtan. We also want to showcase a new level of European collaboration by co-hosting this festival with the four other temples.
We hope that many of you will join the six hours of virtual festivities that we have planned for you.”
