MUMBAI: Young Indians (Yi), an arm of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has organised the 3rd Young India National Summit 2007 on February 2 and 3, 2007 which aims to be the voice of young Indians globally and provide them a platform to realise the dream of a developed India. The four-year-old movement is made up of 14 chapters across the country, with 750 members aged 25-40.

The summit will have the theme: Challenging the Status Quo. It will bring together thought leaders and speakers & panelists who are experts from various domains like R Seshasayee (President, CII), KV Kamath (MD & CEO, ICICI Bank Ltd), Adi B Godrej, Chairman, The Godrej Group, Godrej Industries Limited, Priya Dutt (Member of Parliament), Omar Abdullah (Member of Parliament), Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra (film director), Prahlad Kakar (Ad film maker), Dr Radhakrishna Das, Director, ISKCON Food Relief Foundation among others. 

The summit will focus on three topics: education, employment and engaging young India. The session will formulate suggestion for change of the government’s youth policy and an effort being made to take the movement beyond the cities to the hinterland. The summit will bring together 800 young minds from various walks of life on a common platform such as issues critical for India’s development and address the challenge of building an India, which everyone dreams of.

The broad objective of Yi is to create a better future for the Indian youth of today as well as create business leaders for the India of tomorrow. The 3rd Yi National Summit aims to focus on critical nation building issues of Educating, Employing and Engaging our nation’s youth
