On October 16th, ISKCON Communications Minister Anuttama Dasa congratulated members of the Baha’i Faith on the special occasion of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Baha’u’llah.
“To the Baha’i International Community
The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) commends the Baha’i Faith on the special occasion of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Baha’u’llah.
We understand that millions of followers of the Baha’i Faith around the world will be celebrating this milestone on October 21-22, 2017.
We greatly respect the sacrifices Baha’u’llah made during his lifetime to share his extensive writings and awareness of God with the people of the time. We appreciate many of his teachings that include the eternal nature of the soul which is continually advancing towards God, living a life of service to others, and the importance of devotion, meditation, and the development of spiritual qualities.
We note the important contributions of the Baha’i community in the fields of education and community and social development, among others.
We also recognize that in some parts of the world the Baha’i community suffers great persecution, and we call upon religious and political leaders to recognize and protect their human rights and their religious liberty as established by the 1981 United Nations “Declaration on the Elimination of all Forms of Intolerance and of Discrimination Based on Religion or Belief.” We applaud the recent UN Resolution demanding the end of the persecution of Baha’is in Yemen.
ISKCON is pleased to work closely with the Baha’i Faith in many countries around the world on shared concerns such as religious freedom and basic human rights.
In closing, we wish you a wonderful bicentenary celebration that strengthens your worldwide community and increases the impact of your message of peace and goodwill around the world.
Искренне,
