The ISKCON Environmental Initiative (IEI) is launching a new seminar series entitled Divinity and the Environment. This inaugural event will be held on Earth Day, Saturday, April 22. It will feature a one-hour talk given by distinguished speaker Radhika Ramana dasa on the topic of Vaisnavism and Ecology.
IEI serves ISKCON leaders and members by developing and promoting environmental standards and educational tools based on sastric and scientific research. In addition, they network with ISKCON eco-projects and other local agencies, engage environmental champions, recognize achievements, and promote caring, sustainable lifestyles centered on devotion to Lord Krishna.
The online seminar’s speaker Dr. Radhika Ramana Dasa, holds the Charles Redd Chair of Religious Studies and serves as Professor and Department Head of the Department of History at Utah State University. In addition, he is the author or editor of four books, a Permanent Research Fellow of the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies, and a past president of the Society for Hindu Christian Studies.
