The ISKCON Mayapur Namahatta devotees inspired 8,230 devotees from different districts in West Bengal and Orissa to visit Mayapur and participate in a systematic training course they offer to assist devotees to develop their spiritual life.
They are following the Siksa Program (pre-initiation levels) which has been recommended by ISKCON’s Governing Body Commission. It consists of five different levels (Sraddhavan, Krishna-sevaka, Krishna-sadhaka, Srila Prabhupada Ashraya and Sri-Guru-Carana Ashraya) and is a great way to help congregational devotees to consolidate and increase their spiritual practices.
The participants study Srila Prabhupada’s books, take tests and are awarded with certificates when they fulfill the requirements of each level.
The Namahatta devotees are now expecting 2000 devotees from North 24 Paragana on the 26th and 27th of September and hope to have 1500 devotees from Nadia district on the 27th and 28th of October.
