A new biography of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura, a highly influential teacher of Gaudiya Vaishnavism and the guru of ISKCON founder Srila Prabhupada, has been completed this June.
Prabhupada disciple Bhakti Vikasa Swami spent over twenty years researching the book, titled Sri Bhaktisiddhanta Vaibhava, and at three volumes and 1,500 pages, it’s clear his efforts have paid off. Full of newly translated material and anecdotes from disciples who personally met the great saint, the work gives intimate insights into his activities, teachings, and character.
The first volume of Bhaktisiddhanta Vaibhava features a biographical overview, as well as a detailed analysis of the message, mission, and personality of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati. The second details the challenges he faced in teaching God consciousness, and also includes biographical sketches of several of his disciples and associates. The final volume features an overview of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati’s contributions, with selections from his lectures, writings, colloquies, and his astrological chart.
Accompanying these are nine color photographs and 164 in black and white, many republished after more than seventy years. The biography, which is presented in an attractive protective box, can be ordered by writing to bvksbooks@gmail.com.
