The New Dwarikadham temple is ISKCON’s newest and perhaps one of the most opulent of gems. Situated on an expansive plot on Links Road, Nyali, this magnificent monument is a sight to behold. The modern yet simple architectural design is not only pleasing to the eye but also soothing to the soul. It was the architect’s primary aim to bring a feeling of peace and tranquility to the worshipper, and indeed, the final product seems to have surpassed his expectations.
Built of a 2-acre plot, the New Dwarikadham complex is constituted of a centrally situated temple, surrounded by various other amenities such as a restaurant, a 26-room guesthouse, a ceremonial hall, a gift shop and residences for priests.
The massive arched entrance gives way to a lush green garden adorned by array of colorful flowers. In the centre of the garden is a spectacular colored water fountain, a first of its kind in Kenya. The entire temple complex is surrounded by a tiled pathway, on which devotees can walk or jog while they are chanting in an open and secure environment.
The New Dwarikadham temple complex is scheduled to be open on the 9th of April, 2011.
