This month the ISKCON Nepal devotees have met two important dignitaries through their outreach efforts: the Prime Minister of Nepal and the Chief Minister of UP.
On August 7th, Patri das, the GBC Co-Regional Secretary for Nepal along with other ISKCON Nepal devotees met with the honorable Prime Minister of Nepal Sher Bahadur Deuba Jiu at the Prime Minister’s office in Kathmandu, Nepal. In the meeting, they invited him to their upcoming Janmashtami festival and did a short kirtan of the maha mantra in the office for the “peace and prosperity of Nepal”.
Days earlier, on August 5th, Patri Das and other ISKCON Nepal devotees met with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Sri Yogi Adityanath Maharaj in Lucknow, UP.
“We had a nice conversation on spirituality, life’s journey, the teachings of Bhagavad-Gita, and many more. I am grateful for the quality time we spent together,” said Patri Das. “I am thankful for the special exchange of gifts that happened today. Maharaj ji honored us with anniversary coins, which were unveiled by the Honorable Prime Minister of India, Sri Narendra Modi ji on the auspicious occasion of the groundbreaking ceremony of Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya.”
During the visit, they discussed the teachings of Bhagavad-Gita and the mission of Srila Prabhupada’s movement to reach every town and village in the world as well as some of the activities of ISKCON Nepal in the areas of cow protection, the INDO Nepal relationship strengthening, developing the Nepal ISKCON community as a spiritual center and as a tourist location. They also exchanged gifts.
