Web and Mobile Platforms Will Feature Special Video Content
New York, NY—Odyssey Networks, the US’s largest multi-faith media coalition, will commemorate the tenth anniversary of 9/11 with “Beyond Hate,” a diverse collection of original video productions that inspire conversation and promote reconciliation and healing. The videos, featuring some of America’s most powerful interfaith voices, will appear on Odyssey’s website (www.odysseynetworks.org) September 5–11, with a new video each day. They include Eboo Patel of Interfaith Youth Core, Rabbi David Saperstein , UCC Bishop Yvette Flunder, and Imam Khalid Latif. Much of the “Beyond Hate” content was filmed at ” 9/11: The Conversation We Never Had,” a live event sponsored by Odyssey and its partner Prepare New York, a group that includes among others Auburn Seminary, Intersections International and the Interfaith Center of New York.
In addition to the original Odyssey productions, “Beyond Hate” offers a selection of videos from Odyssey’s diverse member groups, a calendar of 9/11-realted events nationwide, and an online resource center with materials for use by congregations and communities in observing the anniversary and addressing the challenges of tolerance in the second decade after the attacks.
For Call on Faith, its inspirational all-video mobile app, Odyssey has developed a special commemorative channel ON 9/11. Along with original prayers and reflections, ON 9/11 features personal accounts of the spiritual journeys of survivors and others who lives changed forever on that morning in September. Sample videos from ON 9/11 can be viewed at www.callonfaith.com. Call on Faith can be downloaded on smartphones (IPhone, Blackberry and Android), on mobile devices (Nook, iPad and iTouch) and through the Sprint Network.
