The position of a part-time and full-time teacher carries with it a number of responsibilities which include:
Discharging conscientiously and with all due and proper care, attention and diligence the principle duty of educating children in accordance with the policies and practices of the school, NSW Department of Education, NSW Board of Studies and directions of the Association of Independent Schools.
Developing educational plans and implementing such plans for the relevant KLAs according to the NSW Board of Studies syllabi, the Gurukula policies on the integration of Krishna Consciousness and other related documents.
Preparing and teaching devotional studies based on the teachings of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the Founder Acarya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness.
Performing all the duties as imposed by the law and abiding by the school’s Code of Conduct for Teachers and Staff Members.
Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30pm during the school year which consists of four 10 week terms from February to mid December. There are 3 two week breaks between terms, and a six week summer break from mid December to February.
Eligibility, Qualifications and Personal Attributes
Bachelor of Education, or Graduate Diploma in Education, or equivalent from an accredited college or university
Active membership with the Institute of Teachers NSW
Teaching experience is preferred
Australian residents or holders of a relevant visa allowing employment in Australia
Being an active and practicing devotee whose lifestyle, personal time activities and professional conduct are in accord with the teaching precepts of Gaudiya Vaisnavism, as presented by Srila Prabhupada
