On June 2nd, 2015, the ISKCON 50 Global Office launched an International Briefing Pack to help centres around the world plan their local celebrations for the 50th Anniversary. The briefing pack which can be downloaded from http://iskcon50.org/downloads/ provides a list of potential events and ideas so that local temples will find it easy to customise and plan what they wish to organise for their regions.

“There are five features that have been identified for the fiftieth anniversary,” said Pancharatna Das, a member of the Executive Committee of the 50th Anniversary. “They are: celebrate events, educate the world, accelerate our mission, appreciate ISKCON and motivate achievements. The briefing pack provides different ideas and celebrations that can be organised against each of these five features. Hopefully, local temples can pick and choose what they want according to resources available with them, so that every centre can feel a part of the global celebrations.”

The briefing pack can be used in conjunction with logos, posters, key messages and other marketing material available on the ISKCON 50 website.

Madhava Das from Brisbane who authored the pack on behalf of the ISKCON 50 Global Office said, “We wanted to make the job of organising the 50th Anniversary as simple as possible by releasing the pack. It is a resource that will hopefully provide an impetus to local temples to start planning in earnest. Local events all over the world will make a combined global impact that will enhance the reputation of ISKCON and increase the glories of Srils Prabhupada.”

The ISKCON 50 Global Office recommends that each temple or centre should establish its own local committee for the 50th Anniversary celebrations. If this is not possible, at least a local project leader should be appointed.

“Each centre should define it plans by selecting the initiatives within its capacity,” said Romapada Das, International Coordinator for the 50th Anniversary. “You should also communicate these plans to your regional or national coordinators for the 50th Anniversary. If you do not know who your coordinator is, you can always contact us directly and send us your plans. We will maintain a global calendar of events on our website and keep you updated with international and regional progress, announcements, newsletters, and social media platforms.”
