On September 28, 2024, Devotees gathered in NYC to celebrate the grand opening of the “Bhakti Loft” on the second floor of their iconic Brooklyn building.
“Over the past year, we have been busy renovating our balcony space on the second floor, which was underutilized,” said Aditya Devi Dasi, VP of ISKCON NYC. “Now we have transformed the place, including restoring the arch windows which were an original feature of this 1920’s building. This finally allows light to flood into the space and even reach Radha Govinda’s temple room.”
This renovation was made possible by the generous donation and vision of Kadamba Kanana Swami and the kind support of other community donors. One of his disciples, SB Keshava Swami, was on hand for the festivities, cutting the ceremonial ribbon to inaugurate the space.
“This multipurpose area will become the new home of Bhakti School, our rapidly growing outreach program, as well as serve as a classroom, studio and conference room,” noted Aditya. “The former appearance of the building has significantly changed as we welcome in a new era with windows looking into the temple. And best of all, our kirtan can be heard on the streets by those passing by.
