On July 13th, ISKCON celebrated the 58th anniversary of its incorporation by our Founder-Acharya Srila Prabhupada. As part of the incorporation, Prabhupada composed the “Seven Purposes of ISKCON.”
To commemorate this anniversary, the ISKCON GBC Strategic Planning Team held a transformative online gathering called “Envisioning a Krishna Conscious World,” hosted by Pancharatna Das. This broadcast delved into ISKCON’s seven purposes and the innovative ways these powerful principles can be applied in our Society today. Special guests for the conversation were Urmila Devi Dasi and Caintanya Bhava Das, two members of a team of visionary authors who published a groundbreaking paper that shares many creative ideas for how devotees can help fulfill Srila Prabhuipada’s original purposes for ISKCON.
The paper’s introduction gives some context for the ambitious project, “Following the 2021 ISKCON 3.0 North American Leadership Summit, a team was formed with an initiative to meditate deeply on the Seven Purposes that Srila Prabhupada laid out for ISKCON and what the world would look like if each of those purposes were fulfilled. This document is a compilation of our collective vision. The descriptions are written in the present tense to help the reader envision the ideal world for themselves.” You can view and download the paper here.
