ISKCON Delhi, Sri Sri Radha Parthasarathi Mandir, celebrated the completion of twenty-five glorious years of service with the Ram Navami festival on March 19th-30th.
The temple was inaugurated on April 5th, 1998, by the then Prime Minister of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, in the presence of former Chief Minister of Delhi Sahib Singh Verma and Sushma Swaraj. It is located at Hare Krishna Hills (near Nehru Place), in the East of the Kailash area of New Delhi, India. It is noteworthy that Smt. Draupadi Murmu and Sri Narendra Modi, the honorable President and Prime Minister of India, have sent special messages to congratulate ISKCON Delhi on this occasion.
Thousands of people witnessed the grand celebration of the temple’s Silver Jubilee. HH Gopal Krishna Goswami Maharaj and HH Atma Nivedana Swami Maharaj hoisted the inauguration flag. An ecstatic lecture on Lord Rama by HG Vrajendranandan Prabhu followed. The event also featured an exhilarating Sita Rama Shobha Yatra with Kirtan from March 19th-25th.
Three consecutive days from March 26th to March 28th welcomed nearly 5,000 youth, 5,000 Congregation members, and 5,000 patrons. There were live performances by the Madhavas, which enlivened the crowd gathered at the event. In addition, guests enjoyed the Astonishing Award-winning Acrobats and Artistes of the Prince Dance Group and the Crazy Hoppers and were spellbound by the beautiful sand painting of Rahul Arya (image below). There were also drama performances by three different teams. Many senior devotees were on hand to offer instruction and lead kirtan over the multi-day event. On March 29th, the enthralling, enchanting, energizing Kirtan Mela included many senior devotees and other kirtaneers.
Several eminent social luminaries were also present at the festival. These included Sri. Anurag Singh Thakur, Union Minister of Youth, and Sri. JP Nadda, BJP National President.
Participants agree it was an astounding success, with thousands chanting, dancing, and feasting. HG Mohanrupa Prabhu of the ISKCON Delhi Silver Jubilee Celebrations Committee was delighted with the event and the positive response from guests. He is thrilled to welcome everyone to the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of Sri Sri Radha Parthasarathi to be held later in 2023.
