Yadubara Dasa (John Griesser), the director of the award-winning documentary “Hare Krishna! The Mantra, the Movement and the Swami who started it all” recently shared an enlightening Q&A following a YouTube post which also shared the full Hare Krishna film.

In the Q&A, Yadubara shared the early history that led up to the film being produced, personal exchanges with Srila Prabhupada, and more. Online platforms like Amazon, Vimeo and YouTube are continuing to reach hundreds of thousands of new viewers seven years after the film was released in theaters worldwide. “It’s playing free on YouTube. We’ve had it up for two-and-a-half months now, and there’s almost half a million views.”

Yadubara Dasa, Visakha Dasi, and the Inner Voice Productions Team are also engaged in a groundbreaking film restoration project that aims to transfer original ISKCON 16mm films to 4K quality and S-8/8mm films to 2K quality.  The labor of love is painstakingly removing scratches and imperfections, frame by frame, to create a “pristine” copy of Srila Prabhupada’s recordings. This is a huge undertaking, given that the project involves 47 hours of footage taken from 1965 to 1977.

“We are dedicated to ensuring that Srila Prabhupada’s timeless teachings are not only preserved but presented in the highest quality possible,” said Yadubara, “The impact of this initiative will be profound, as the meticulously restored films will allow future generations to connect with Srila Prabhupada in a visually captivating and impactful manner.”
