Due to the continuous help and incoming of donations, ISKCON’s Food for Life (FFL) activities are still going on and reaching the victims of typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. The dedicated Food for Life team has been working in Tacloban city since Christmas day, and they prepare hot meals and deliver them to different areas of the city every day.
One of the FFL team members stationed in Tacloban says : “Every single day, we gain strength to carry on as we see the victims receiving our hot meals with tears in their eyes. They are full of appreciation because it is after a long time that they are eating hot meals again. It gives them hope and strength to face their difficulties. We are very grateful to everyone who has extended their help and have trusted us to do this feeding service on their behalf.”

There are ISKCON-member volunteers from other countries helping the local team. They are also cooperating with other organization, including the Red Cross Philippines that provides accommodation to the FFL team, and gives them facilities to set-up the kitchen, tents and providing them with clean purified water.
The place where the FFL team is based in Tacloban is an area at one of the main streets of Tacloban where a ship had been blown ashore at the height of the storm. The neighborhood was completely wiped out by the strong water from the sea and the strong winds.
