Between February 11 and 13, ISKCON Kolkata celebrates the 40th anniversary of the installation Sri Sri Radha Govinda at the Albert Road center. The deities will be offered a new altar made of teak wood and decorated with 24 carat gold.
The program will start on February 11 at 5:30 pm at G. D. Birla Auditorium with Jayapataka Swami talking about his memories of the old Kolkata Temple.
On the 12th there will be a seminar for the bachelors of 16-30 years, “From Passion To Compassion”.
On 13th, at 7:30 am Radha Govinda will be visible first the first time standing on the new altar. In the afternoon, between 4 pm and 9 pm, there will be lectures, singing and dancing, and vegetarian feast.
Kolkata is the birthplace of ISKCON founder A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, and as such it is considered to be a special place for ISKCON devotees.
