The ISKCON Temple in DC, with its spacious and beautiful new facilities, is able to serve as a significant venue for large gatherings and events in the nation’s capital. This not only benefits the devotees but also strengthens the Temple’s partnerships with community organizations. One such partner, the Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB), recently held its biannual meeting with its Maryland Partners on July 26th at the Temple.
“The Capital Area Food Bank leads our region’s efforts to provide equitable access to food and opportunity to people struggling with hunger and food insecurity,” said Rasapriya Devi Dasi, food program coordinator. “This event brought together about 100 participants from Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties, offering a valuable platform for collaboration and knowledge sharing.”
“It was a delight to host the CAFB Partner meeting. So many sincere souls gathered to address hunger in this area and how we can work together to make things better for those in need,” said Temple President Ananda Vrindavan Devi Dasi. ISKCON of DC helps provide meals to three local shelters in Montgomery County.
“The meeting also featured presentations from our partners No Limits Outreach and Rainbow CDC, who shared their experiences and initiatives aimed at providing food to families in need,” noted Rasapriya Devi Dasi. The CAFB extended its heartfelt gratitude to ISKCON of DC for hosting the event.
