Since the launch of our food truck at UCLA, Krishna Lunch So Cal is thrilled to announce that its sales have increased threefold in just six months. This remarkable growth is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, as well as the enthusiastic support from the UCLA community. While sales were never the main objective, the success puts the team in a strong position to expand this devotional project and share their experience with other devotees who are interested in starting similar initiatives in their areas. This, ultimately, will enable the distribution of Krishna prasadam everywhere to benefit the local communities.

Krishna Lunch So Cal is aimed at providing low-cost on-campus meals and meaningful connections to college-age students as food insecurity sharply rises. There is potential to provide these meals and meaningful connections to the larger community as well.

“Beyond being a nutritious food hub while addressing food insecurity among students, we envision Krishna Lunch So Cal as a place where the students and other community members can come together, share thoughts, and build connections,” said Govinda Datta Dasa, founder of Krishna Lunch So Cal. “With our recent success, we are excited to expand this initiative and share our resources with other devotees who wish to start similar projects. Nutritious food, good connection to the community, and opportunities to give back to the community are being recognized worldwide as great formulas to a fulfilling life.”

Helping Others Who Wish to Start Similar Outreach
We are committed to supporting this expansion by offering our resources at no cost. This includes comprehensive guidance on how to acquire a food truck, navigate the process of obtaining necessary state licenses, and access to all of our food recipes. Additionally, we will provide a detailed list of our wholesale vendors for popular items such as cheesecakes, samosas, and chocolate chip cookies. By sharing these resources, we aim to make it easier for others to replicate our success and contribute to the mission of Prasadam distribution.

Our goal is to help create profitable businesses for all interested devotees, thereby spreading Srila Prabhupada’s mission of prasadam distribution far and wide. We believe that by working together, we can make a significant impact on food insecurity and promote a sense of community and devotion. We are excited about the potential to reach more people and provide nourishing, delicious meals to those in need.
