The Mayapur Academy’s two-month intensive deity worship course culminated last Friday (September 19), with fifty-seven Bengali-speaking students receiving their awards. The majority hailed from Mayapur, while two students each from Bangladesh and Kolkata attended. Most were staff of the Mayapur temple, including priests and department heads.

Despite their busy service schedule, everyone gave the course their all and successfully completed its three modules – Archana (worship) deity dressing, and cooking. Veteran Mayapur priests Pankajanghri and Jananivas handed out the awards, commending the students’ devotion and natural expertise.

Students then spoke about their experiences, before enjoying a delicious feast.

A women’s course is also underway, beginning on September 22nd. Twenty out of the forty attendees are girls from Mayapur’s International School, who have decided to spend their autumn holidays studying deity worship. The five-week intensive course will cover several modules including worship, deity dressing, cooking, and dress and jewelry making.

The Academy’s flagship diploma course will begin on November 10 and run for four months.
