Devotees who have served in ISKCON for at least five years will now be entitled to fifteen days of free accommodation and food per year at Sridham Mayapur, ISKCON’s headquarters in India.
“The offer is a gesture of appreciation for devotees’ dedication to Srila Prabhupada’s movement,” says Padmanayana Dasa, Head of International Devotee and Guest Care. “We want all ISKCON devotees to think of Mayapur as their home.”
The fifteen free days may be taken at any time during the year except during the month-long Gaura Purnima Festival from late February to late March. Rooms are in the Vamsi Bhavan building, and include attached bathrooms.
“Devotees who want to take advantage of this offer must inform us in advance and bring a letter of recommendation from their local temple authority, confirming at least five years of dedicated service to ISKCON,” Padmanayana clarifies. He adds that families need only one letter of recommendation.
Due to limited capacity, the free facility is not available for devotees from India or the neighboring countries of Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
