Ministry of Education Announces 2023 Books Are The Basis Week

The ISKCON Ministry of Education has announced the 2023 “Books Are The Basis” week. This global event will take place September 29th-October 5th, and the topic this year is Shastra Caksu, that is, seeing the world through the eyes of Srila Prabhupada’s books.

The goals of the “Books Are The Basis” initiative are that Srila Prabhupada’s books will be the most widely read spiritual literature in the world and that devotees will significantly increase the amount of time they spend daily reading his books.

Temples and communities worldwide are encouraged to celebrate this festival locally by following three simple steps:
1. Create awareness and share the “Books Are The Basis” poster and videos with everyone.
2. Organise one or more of the following: Lectures, seminars, workshops, reading sessions, panel discussions, interviews, and group discussions – keeping the main focus on the importance of reading Srila Prabhupada’s books.
3. Update them at iskconeducation.org so they can showcase your activities to the rest of the world to encourage many other centres.
