New York, New York (October 13, 2010) For the first time since its founding in 1987, Odyssey Networks has opened its membership to faith groups and individuals beyond the Abrahamic faith traditions. The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (Hare Krishna), represented by, Anuttama Dasa, the Baha’i Faith, represented by Glen Fullmer, and one individual member Sikh, have recently joined, along with ten new organizations and five individual members. These newcomers will join 57 faith groups and organizations on Odyssey’s roster of multi-faith members. As the nation’s largest multi-faith coalition, Odyssey is dedicated to building bridges of understanding among different faith traditions through the production and distribution of media.
The new organization members are America’s Quilt of Faith, College of Saint Elizabeth, Fellowship in Prayer, Global Peace Initiative of Women, Life Focus Communications, The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, Mercy Street, National Board of Mothers, North American Association for the Catechumenate and Unity Productions Foundation.
The new individual members are Brian Finnerty, President of the New York Chapter of the Religion Communicators Council and the Communications Officer for Opus Dei US; Tim Frakes, award winning videographer, video producer, script writer and editor; Ann Hafften, US Coordinator for the Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel, a ministry of the World Council of Churches; Ralph Singh Sikh, author, teacher and community builder; and Debra Goshner Vinik, founder and CEO of Diva Communications and an award-winning video producer for the New York Board of Rabbis
