Service Opportunity: Divisional Directors to the GBC Executive Director
By Kaisori Dasi   |  Aug 13, 2010
nw

Srila Prabhupada established the GBC (Governing Body Commission) to provide leadership and governance for the International Society for Krishna Consciousness. In turn, the GBC develops global policies and strategies to ensure that ISKCON moves smoothly and sustainably into the future.

The times call for both dynamic, visionary planning as well as the effective execution of those plans. The GBC has concluded that to best serve ISKCON, it needs to strengthen its executive strategies by establishing an Executive Director, who will serve the GBC by ensuring that GBC members fulfill the fundamental assignments Srila Prabhupada gave them, implement the GBC’s resolutions, and make progress in activities related to strategic planning. Specifically, the Executive Director will establish priorities, objectives, and goals, and set up systems designed to encourage accomplishment of those goals.

Since this gives the Executive Director an extraordinary volume of service, he will be assisted by Divisional Directors, each assigned to a specific area. Ten Divisions have been identified, four of which are ready to be implemented.
