Hare Krishna School in Auckland has a position vacant from the second of July 2012 for a qualified and motivated devotee educator. The position will come with some aspect of school management which will be appropriately rewarded.
The school is a Primary/intermediate school catering for students up to 12 years of age. It is situated 20 kms North West of Auckland within 3 minutes walk from the ISKCON Radha Giridhari temple. Salary is set by the New Zealand Teachers Collective Agreement and is available on line through the Ministry of Education website.
Many traveling devotees confirm that the school is one of the very best schools in ISKCON. It is a Government funded school with a mandate from the Government to ensure that philosophy and culture of Krishna-consciousness is prominently presented in our curriculum and the ethos of the school. The school currently has 90 students with a capacity of 150.
The successful applicant will possess adequate qualifications for teaching in New Zealand schools and have experience in teaching primary level students up to twelve years of age. The school is specifically looking for a teacher with experience of teaching grades 3-4 or grades 4-5. Personal specifications include dependability, flexibility and adaptability. You must be able to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of primary school curriculum and how to meet the needs of the learner.
