During the last school year, and despite the turmoil in education that the Covid pandemic brought, TKG Academy continued in-person schooling with hybrid and remote learning options for students who lived in the school vicinity. Strict protocols, such as masking in classrooms, and social distancing have been implemented, as well as establishing air filters, daily student screening, monitoring student symptoms, and quarantining after any travel. Because TKG Academy’s families are part of the village of Kalachandji’s community, everyone has stepped up to protect the community. Students and staff have hopped into remote learning twice during the previous semester in order to safeguard against a potential Covid spread. After quarantining students who have potentially been exposed to the virus, the school resumed the in-person model.
Due to a variety of reasons, the private school has seen a marked increase in enrollment for this school year and prospective students for next year. Because of this, the TKG Academy Open House will be held virtually for the first time. Participants can expect to hear from the school principal, Nrtya Kisori devi and vice-principal Gopi Gita Schomaker about the unique programs. They will learn about TKG Academy’s college preparatory academics, the school’s spiritual program rooted in the bhakti traditions of India, and multi-level, project-based, and student-led classrooms. Nine core principles are at the foundation of each program. Dedicated teachers will present the why behind the unique approach offered at TKG Academy, and how it ties in with nurturing a deep love for learning in each child. Alumni students will share their transitions into adult life, and how what they learned at ISKCON’s first school has been the guiding light for the rest of their adult lives.
The program is set to end with time for questions and answers. Anyone interested can join the Open House on Wednesday, February 3rd, at 7PM ET, 6PM CT, 4PM PT online at
