The high school students of Bhaktivedanta Gurukula and International School in Vrindavan were in ecstasy when the Krishna Balarama Temple management asked them to decorate the swing for the Divine Couple Sri Sri Radheshyamasundar on the first day of Jhulan Yatra. The four day swing festival culminated on Balarama Purnima, Lord Balarama’s Appearance Day.
Rajavidya Das, the Ashram Director and coordinator of the event said, “It was a very exciting day for the teachers and boys. We were on tender hooks about the specific design for the flower bower. After much debating, the problem was resolved with us choosing a Jaipuri design with thousands of sweet smelling red roses and white jasmine, original Braj flowers, as the finishing touch. The students relished every moment of this wonderful service and are praying to Sri Sri Raheshyamsundar that they can do it every year. We would like to thank the Vrindavan temple management for giving us the opportunity to render this very exalted service to the Divine Couple.”
The lady teachers were inspired by the boys and created a marvelous rangoli pattern to greet the Divine Couple as They entered Their flower bower.
Radhakunda Das, a 12th grader initiated by His Holiness Lokanath Swami, said, “It was an awesome feeling to be part of this wonderful service. I was responsible for stringing the jasmine garlands around Radheshyam’s swing and I enjoyed every minute of it!”
Another aspiring disciple of His Holiness Lokanath Swami, 11th grader, Parikshit said, “When Radheshyam, Lalita Devi and Vishaka Devi arrived from the main alter to the swing mandap Rajavidya Prabhu asked me to fan Their Lordships with the chamara. I had goose pimples being so close to Their Lordships. It was an incredible feeling.”
