Back in May 2023, ISKCON News profiled ISKCON Bhagavata Mahavidyalaya’s groundbreaking move to spread the teachings of Srimad Bhagavatam and advance Vedic education by launching a new educational program in collaboration with the Simhachalam community. They also launched a mobile app and website which both offer a user-friendly interface that allows individuals to easily create an account and access a range of courses. Some courses are entirely free, encouraging participants to delve into the teachings of the Bhagavatam. Additional courses, which require a nominal fee for maintenance purposes, offer more specialized study topics. The Bhagavata College has offered over 75 courses to thousands of students in over 40 countries.

They have now successfully completed their first academic year in ISKCON Bhagavata Mahavidyalaya Europe, Simhachalam. They have offered 19 online courses in English, Russian, French and German, enrolling 606 online participants and offering a successful on-site program at Simhachalam.

For the next academic year, they are offering the possibility of volunteer work. Thanks to the increased interest and response, the initiative is in need of more team members who would like to contribute to the mission of studying, practicing and spreading the teachings of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam and other writings of the Gaudiya Vaishnava Acharyas. Specifically, they are looking for a:

• Graphic designer for creating course posters in PhotoShop
• Website administrator to upload courses and help students with website issues
• Social media person for promoting the course on Facebook, Instagram, and communication channels (WhatsApp, Telegram)
• Heads of course departments to recruit teachers, plan new courses, and monitor ongoing courses in their department

General skills/experience/requirements:

– Responsible, professional, reliable, fluent in English, enthusiastic to serve the mission of Gauranga Mahaprabhu.

– Hours: 2 – 3 hours per week + 1 online meeting per week

– All services are done online – Training will be provided.
