During a July 7, 1975 television interview, a woman reporter challenged Srila Prabhupada by saying, “And if women were subordinate to men, it would solve all of our problems?”
Srila Prabhupada responded confidently based upon his deeply realized Vedic understanding, “Yes. Man wants that woman should be subordinate, faithful to him. Then he is ready to take charge. The man’s mentality, woman’s mentality different. So if the woman agrees to remain faithful and subordinate to man, then the family life will be peaceful.”
Last year the Mayapur Institute launched the Bhakti-pravesa Course to address and serve the needs of ISKCON’s Vaisnavis according to the understandings Srila Prabhupada imparted to his followers. Inspired by very positive feedback, the Mayapur Institute has gone deeper and identified further needs of the Vaisnavi community.
They added new components to this year’s Bhakti-pravesa Course that blend sastric understanding and practical training in diverse areas giving them the confidence that their students will get the support and inspiration required to identify the service for which they are best suited while simultaneously deeply imbibing the foundational principles of spiritual life.
