  • TOVP Domes Completed, Finishing Work Underway

    The superstructures of all three domes of ISKCON’s upcoming flagship temple – the Temple of the Vedic Planetarium in Mayapur, West Bengal – have been completed, and finishing work is now underway. At its highest point, the temple will stand 113 meters (370 feet) tall, higher than the Taj Mahal and St. Paul’s Cathedral in London.

  • First Segment of West Wing Kalash Installation Begins

    The ToVP team have commenced the stainless steel structure for the West Wing kalash. What you are seeing in the photos is the first segment for the small dome. There will be three more layers on top of that. This gives an indication of the immense size of the kalashes. Soon work will commence on the main dome kalash. A video by Prananath Das.

  • New U.S. TOVP Office and Foundation

    The American team of Temple of the Vedic Planetarium (TOVP) will be opening a new office in Alachua, Florida to manage their fundraising and promotional operations in America. The office is a house donated for this purpose by Ambarisa Das. Along with the office, a newly formed Foundation, TOVP Foundation, Inc. has been set up with Sesa Das as its chairman. Sesa is also the 2016 appointed GBC Chairman, as well as the ISKCON Minister of Education.

The office will locally process North American donations, maintain good relationships with donors, and make sure that their contributions are properly managed.

    After a very productive year in 2016, the team working on ISKCON’s upcoming flagship temple – the Temple of the Vedic Planetarium (TOVP) – have reported that the superstructure of the 520,000 square foot building has been completed. In addition, plastering and brickwork of the whole building has been finished, as well as external concreting of the three domes, including the 370-foot-high main dome.

    The Temple of the Vedic Planetarium (ToVP) team has announced the launch of a new website, tovp360.org, which offers a virtual tour through the Temple of the Vedic Planetarium, in Mayapur, India, one of the largest temples in the world. The virtual-reality panoramas in this site will show every nook and corner of the magnificent temple. From 24 different places, people can see all around and look both above and below to get a feel of this sacred space.
