As part of ISKCON Pakistan`s yearly Gita Jayanti festivities, on December 11, devotees set out for a picnic to Mohenjo-daro, an archeological site situated in what is now the province of Sindh, Pakistan. Said to be built around 2600 BC, it was one of the largest cities of the ancient Indus Valley Civilization, and one of the world’s earliest major urban settlements, existing at the same time as the civilizations of ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, and Crete. This mysterious culture emerged nearly 4,500 years ago and thrived for a thousand years, profiting from the highly fertile lands of the Indus River floodplain and trade with the civilizations of the nearby Mesopotamia.

Around 50 ISKCON devotees travelled 30 kilometers from Larkana to reach Mohenjo-daro in about an hour. They were all engaged in Hari Nam Sankirtan.

At the site they met BBC Channel Correspondent who interviewed them about the history and link of Mohenjo-daro to Sanatna Dharma.
